What keeps you from feeling fully alive?
In my psychotherapy practice I offer
a safe, supportive place for you to address whatever is keeping you from feeling fully alive. Together we will find your self-acceptance,
your humanity, and your strengths. In being willing to "drill into" some of the challenges in life, people find
that they feel more joy. I believe that pain and struggles in life can be turned into opportunities to grow and find
more peace and more freedom in life and in our relationships.
With a deep belief that healing often
happens in the context of relationships, the focus of my work is on helping people develop the skills they need to thrive
in relationships and to discover things in themselves that may be preventing them from experiencing healthy intimacy and genuine
connection with others.
It's said that we teach best what we most need to learn. I don’t teach from a textbook. I teach
from real-life experience as well as professional training. Because I've been through the struggles that come along with parenting,
marriage, divorce, single parenting and being human, my clients know that I can relate to what they're going through. I combine those personal
experiences with years in the field of social work to guide you to learn new tools and coping strategies. My goal is to get
myself fired as your therapist because you've accomplished what you set out to do in therapy. I aim to help you find peace.
I never let go of my hope
that your family can change in the ways you are hoping for. I love watching a couple go from being distant and apart,
to regaining their friendship and reconnecting with what drew them to fall in love with each other in the first place. My
heart sings when parents talk about the joy of having a calmer, more peaceful family. I enjoy working with teens and
helping them learn skills and feel closer to their families.
"John
and I are both huge fans of Kerry and we agree she is the best! She helped us literally walk from the brink of the end of
our marriage to a really great place and we of all people never thought that would happen. Thank you Kerry, you truly saved
us!" – Shirlee McDaniels
I
work with people on issues relating to parenting, marriage, divorce and relationships. I work with couples, families,
adults and teens. I do parent coaching and co-parenting therapy. I am a Colorado registered psychotherapist
and have earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Denver University (1992) and a post-graduate certificate in Marriage
& Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute (2009). I look for people's strengths and build on those, and
I am an interactive therapist who teaches new skills and ways of thinking about challenging situations. One way to get
a sense of my work is to click on the link above and view the video about my therapy services.
I was born and raised in Denver and have traveled the world, started a non-profit organization, biked
cross-country, and done a lot of my own personal and relationship growth. I am the mother of three children who keep
me on the lookout for ways to be more loving, patient and compassionate.
This is not just a job to me. This is
your life and I would be honored to help you with whatever challenges you face regarding relationships with others or with yourself.
Please
call today to schedule a free 30-minute consultation by phone or in person to answer your questions and to see if I'm the
right therapist for you. I know that it can be hard to reach out for help, so if you're more comfortable making the first
contact by email, that is fine, too. My hourly fee is $125/hour. My office is in the Denver Tech Center near I-25 & Belleview.
If you have questions, I'd love to talk to you and answer your questions. Feel free to call me at (303) 770-4667 or
email me at parenting@kerrystutzman.com.
With love and laughter,
Kerry
